This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics while working alongside experienced technicians in both shop and field environments.Essential Duties & Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of production rigs, heavy equipment, and commercial vehicles.</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.</li><li>Clean, inspect, and prepare mechanical components such as pistons, valves, clutches, transmissions, and related equipment.</li><li>Assist in replacing worn or damaged parts using hand tools and power tools.</li><li>Support emergency repairs at customer job sites and roadside locations as needed.</li><li>Safely operate shop equipment, tools, and heavy equipment when authorized.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and field.</li><li>Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to support field operations.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED preferred.</li><li>Zero (0) to one (1) year of experience in vehicle, equipment, or mechanical repair and maintenance.</li><li>Valid California Class C Driver License with an acceptable driving record.</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn diesel and heavy equipment repair.</li><li>Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.</li><li>Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Previous experience working around heavy equipment, oilfield equipment, or commercial vehicles.</li><li>Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.</li><li>Forklift experience is a plus.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<ul><li>Strong active listening and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues.</li><li>Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.</li><li>Ability to monitor equipment performance and recognize potential mechanical problems.</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Team-oriented with a safety-first mindset.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 2 hours without relief).</li><li>Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, reach, twist, and climb throughout the workday.</li><li>Frequently lift 75 pounds or more and continuously lift between 25 and 75 pounds.</li><li>Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.</li><li>Occasionally lift over 100 pounds with assistance.</li><li>Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.</li></ul>Work Environment<ul><li>Shop and field work in oilfield environments.</li><li>Exposure to grease, oil, dirt, dust, loud noise, vibration, and changing weather conditions.</li><li>Overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs may be required based on business needs.</li></ul>]]></description>
