Job Position: Valve Tech
Location: Ventura, CA 93003
No Transportation or Per diem provided
Preferably applicant must be from the Ventura Area.
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Shift: 1st
Description:
Rebuilds safety and flow valves used on compressed and liquefied oil/gas facilities and distribution system piping. Disassembles valve, using bench vise and hand tools. Inspects components for surface flaws, and defects in stem, seat, nozzle and threads, laps / machines valve seats as needed, dresses threads with tap and die. Immerses parts in cleaning solution and reassembles valve. E. Attaches valve to high-pressure gas or liquid lines. Records number of valves tested and test results. May attach gauge and open valves to test with filled N2 cylinders or high-pressure liquid pump for pressure test and set point. Brushes or spray chemical solution around valves to test filled cylinders for leaks. May fill cylinders. Perform basic calibrations of instruments (gauges) and testing valve activation. Assist the customer with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for the equipment/ systems the customer is responsible for. Ensure that all testing and repair paperwork, valve files and work order documentation is completed with accurate information. Participate in OSHA required training. Inspect and repair safety and control valves as requested. Basic troubleshooting and repair of process control valves and pressure relief valves All work must be completed in accordance with Customer and ICS Company policies. Perform regular certification of test equipment to verify conformance to industry standards and Company procedures. Maintain an on-going two-way performance dialogue with your supervisor. Notify your supervisor of any training needs and advise them of any factors impacting your ability to perform. Perform tasks in accordance with planning and scheduling. Contribute in a positive way toward the Customers goals.
