Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Description: Job description
We are seeking a Weed Abatement & Vegetation Management Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for controlling unwanted vegetation and maintaining landscapes in compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Duties include using herbicides, operating mowing and trimming equipment, and performing manual labor to clear overgrown areas in various environments, including roadsides, fields, industrial sites, and public lands.
Weed & Vegetation Control: Perform mechanical and chemical vegetation control to manage overgrowth and prevent fire hazards.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate power tools, weed trimmers, mowers, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment.
Herbicide Application: Apply pesticides and herbicides according to state and federal regulations to prevent regrowth.
Site Maintenance: Clear brush, weeds, and other vegetation to ensure proper land management.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear and handling chemicals safely.
Inspection & Reporting: Conduct site inspections to assess weed control effectiveness and report any issues or hazards.
Environmental Protection: Work in compliance with local environmental guidelines to prevent harm to native plants and wildlife.
Collaboration: Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, weed abatement, or vegetation management is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
Knowledge of herbicides and pesticide application regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
Pesticide Applicator License.
Fire Fuel Reduction Training.
OSHA 10/30 Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver s License (Required)
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed
Required to travel out of town with company
