Job Position: Field Mechanic
Location: Taft, CA 93268
Pay Rate: $32.00 DOE
Shift: 1st
Description
Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic defects in production rigs and vehicles. Cleans parts, e.G., pistons, valves, transmissions, clutches, using steam hose and detergents, inspecting them, and identifying worn or defective parts. Replaces worn or damaged mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components using hand and power tools. Welds broken structures, e.G., engine mounts, handrails machine guards and pipe racks using electric and acetylene welding equipment. Test-runs engines at various speeds observes efficiency of operation. Troubleshoot engines and transmissions. (Cummins, Detroit diesel, Allison transmissions, CAT, Paccar Installs repaired equipment, observes operations, and readjusts components as necessary. Operates various standard and heavy equipment and tools utilized in rig and vehicle repair. Makes emergency repairs in oil fields and roadside as needed. Maintains cleanliness of garage facilities and equipment, ensuring areas of responsibility are organized and safe for work. Performs position related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) - preferred Minimum of 1-(one) year of demonstrated experience in oil rig and large vehicle repair and maintenance.
