Job Position: Concrete Pumper
Location: Bakersfield, CA 93314
Pay Rate: $26.00/hr
Shift: Day
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operate concrete pumping equipment: Drive and set up trucks equipped with concrete pumps at job sites.
Control concrete flow: Use the boom and remote controls to direct concrete output precisely where needed.
Transport and deliver concrete: Move between multiple job sites daily, ensuring timely delivery.
Maintain equipment: Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs to keep pumps in safe working condition.
Safety compliance: Follow strict safety protocols to protect workers and equipment.
Job site coordination: Work closely with site managers and crew to meet project requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED is typically required.
Licensing: Commercial driver s license (Class A or B) and DOT medical certificate.
Technical ability: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery.
Physical stamina: Must be able to work outdoors for long hours in varying weather conditions.
Communication skills: Ability to coordinate with construction teams and follow instructions clearly.
Work Environment
Variety of sites: Operators may work on residential, commercial, or large infrastructure projects.
Fast-paced schedule: Unlike crane operators who may stay at one site for months, pump operators often visit multiple sites in a single day.
Team-oriented role: Collaboration with concrete finishers, site supervisors, and truck drivers is essential.
Career Outlook
Growing demand: Infrastructure expansion and urban development continue to increase the need for skilled pump operators.
